Instead we got an old fashioned but whuppin' at the hand of the undefeated New Orleans Saints.
Perennial contenders, and a league wide litmus test for quality in the NFL, the New England Patriots were manhandled by the New Orleans Saints on Monday night.

Drew Brees became one of a very select few quarterbacks to throw for 4 or more touchdowns against a Bill Bellichick coached defense. Tom Brady, well he looked more like Matt Cassel than himself, tossing two costly interceptions and no TD's, and the Patriots defense looked like it was better suited to the CFL than an NFL contender.

New Orleans remains undefeated and 4 of their next 5 opponents are under .500, and the Pats head to Miami to salvage their division hopes.
